Designlab Learning Brand Materials
After nearly a decade in the UX education space, Designlab was ready for a refresh. The existing identity had a strong foundation, but there was room to make it feel more energetic, contemporary, and flexible across the many places prospective students encountered the brand.
Working alongside the Design Lead and marketing team, I helped develop and extend the refreshed visual direction across digital, social, presentations, educational materials, and merchandise.
We moved away from flat, corporate illustration and leaned into a more expressive visual language, introducing gradients, stylized photography, custom illustrations, and a brighter approach to the existing color palette.

Building something the team could use
A good brand refresh doesn't mean much if nobody can use it consistently, and that’s what the marketing team was looking for.
I developed more than 75 reusable templates for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and editorial content, creating a visual system that gave the social team more flexibility without having to reinvent the look for every post.
That same direction extended into student-facing presentations, ebooks, and other marketing materials, helping create a more connected experience across channels.
E-book template for students to learn about a variety of topics regarding the UX industry.
Before and after
The previous visual identity relied heavily on dark backgrounds, flat illustration, and duotone photos. The refreshed direction introduced more light, depth, and movement while keeping recognizable elements of the original brand.
The result was a more flexible visual language that could evolve with the marketing team's needs and looked toward the future during a growing and bright moment in Designlab’s history.
